In countries that have emerged from conflict or natural disasters, education restores civic confidence and can be one of the first dividends of peace. It signals prospects for a better future where children are given the opportunity to learn and develop to their full potential. Education is a fundamental human right that protects children from harm. This right is never more challenged, or more needed, than in times of crisis.

‘Actions for Children’ bring timely issues to the foreground for policymakers and decision makers working in a range of fields supported by UNICEF, and promote specific actions to address them.
